Johny Hendricks: I can t wait to retire Georges St-Pierre again

Get the Full StoryJohny Hendricks wants a rematch with GSP at middleweight. Georges St-Pierre will be coming back from an extended hiatus from mixed martial arts later this year, moving up a division to face middleweight champion Michael Bisping. It will be almost 4 years since GSP competed, and his last opponent, Johny Hendricks, still wants a crack at him now that they re both at middleweight.

I can t wait to retire him again. That s really what I ve been thinking, Hendricks told Submission Radio HT: MMA Mania . You know, I told him, I have no disrespect for the guy, he did amazing things. But three years out of it, you know, things have changed.

It s pretty weird saying that he wants to retire St-Pierre again . Both men fought to a close decision back in 2013, and not only did GSP officially end up with the victory, he also left the sport on his own terms as the reigning champion.

St-Pierre has also gone on to say that he has no interest in a rematch, as he feels that Hendricks has lost explosiveness, and isn t the same fighter anymore. Nonetheless, Hendricks is still calling for the bout, saying it will be much different if it happens at middleweight.

He said that I m washed out. Well guess what? It s a new Johny at 185. And I cannot wait for him to see, I can t wait to see how this happens. he said. He thought I was strong at 170, wait till he feels me at 185 when I m not killing myself to make weight, when I m not killing myself just to focus on my weight cut. What is he gonna think after the 185-pound match, when I m totally focused on one thing and one thing only, doing what I did, but better?
