Johnny Depp Blasts Trump: "When Was the Last Time an Actor Assassinated a President?"

Get the Full StoryJohnny Depp did not mince words when talking about President Donald Trump during the Glastonbury Festival in England on Thursday. The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who was on hand for a special screening of his 2004 film The Libertine, brought up the president while addressing the crowd. "Can you bring Trump here?" he asked. The crowd began booing, to which Johnny continued, "No, no, no, you misunderstood completely. I think he needs . . . help." The actor went on to reference the 1865 assassination of Abraham Lincoln by actor John Wilkes Booth. "When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?" When the audience cheered and clapped, Johnny said, "I want to clarify, I'm not an actor. I lie for a living."

In response to Johnny's comments, the White House issued a statement on Friday. "President Trump has condemned violence in all forms and it's sad that others like Johnny Depp have not followed his lead. I hope that some of Mr. Depp's colleagues will speak out against this type of rhetoric as strongly as they would if his comments were directed to a Democrat elected official."

Back in February 2016, Johnny famously portrayed Trump in a hilarious Funny or Die spoof about his book, The Art of the Deal.
