Tom Cruise Injured While Performing Mission: Impossible 6 Stunt

Get the Full StoryIf you happen to follow writer-director Christopher McQuarrie on Instagram, over the past few weeks you ve likely been treated to a steady stream of character portraits featuring many of the cast members on board for Mission: Impossible 6. Not only that, but he s also been sharing a good deal of set photos giving us a look at what s going on behind the scenes of the upcoming blockbuster.

Filming on Paramount s globe-trotting adventure continues apace today and we now have yet another set video, though this one doesn’t hail from McQuarrie’s social media. Instead, it comes to us from TMZ and depicts Tom Cruise performing one of his own stunts – as he so often does. However, this time, it looks like he’s injured himself quite badly, missing a jump and banging up his leg. It’s unknown how serious it is, but as you can see in the video which you’ll find here , he can’t seem to walk without limping heavily, which isn’t good.

What s more is that we ve heard in recent weeks that in true Mission: Impossible fashion, the as-yet-untitled sixth installment in the long-running series will have Cruise execute a suitably jaw-dropping stunt different from the one seen in TMZ’s video . He s already scaled the Burj Khalifa and clung on to an airborne military plane, but what s next? Whatever it may be, the Hollywood veteran has spent the past year training for M:I 6 and we’re hopeful this new injury won’t prevent him from carrying out whatever it is that’s being planned for the big stunt – if it hasn’t already been filmed, that is.

As for what else we can expect from the the upcoming sequel – aside from awesome stunts – well, there are precious few story details currently available for Ethan Hunt’s next mission. What we do know, though, is that key members of the IMF are back on board – namely Ilsa Faust Rebecca Ferguson , Luther Stickell Ving Rhames , and Benji Dunn Simon Pegg – while series newcomer Henry Cavill and his dashing mustache have kicked up quite the fuss in recent weeks due to the sequel’s scheduling clash with Justice League.

Also starring Sean Harris, Alec Baldwin and Michelle Monaghan as Julia Meade, Mission: Impossible 6 is expected to storm into theaters on July 27th, 2018.
