Stamann: Cormier already apologized, but I don t expect Rogan to do the same

Get the Full StoryCody Stamann claims Daniel Cormier apologized to him for the biased commentating accusations, but does not expect to hear from Joe Rogan. After his win over Tom Duquesnoy at UFC 216, Cody Stamann claimed that both Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan were overtly biased against him through their commentating. And for it, he demanded an apology from the two men.

On his recent appearance on Ireland s Obviously Fight Talk podcast, Stamann cleared the air regarding his issue with Rogan and Cormier. The 27-year-old UFC bantamweight fighter did admit that he was at fault for reacting like he did, and said that DC had actually reached out to him via Twitter to extend an apology.

There's not a good a job in this MMA business, and I should know better than to poke at even the commentators because it's really not their fault, they're just doing their job, with the resources they have, and, yeah, that got blown up, Stamann said. I've been tagged in 30-40 different pictures on Instagram. I've got people telling me I'm a 'whiny little roided midget . I was reading the comments yesterday and I was just dying laughing at the things people are saying.

Ultimately it's my fault, he added. I'm the one that said it, and I talked to DC Daniel Cormier , DC shot me a message in Twitter and he said he was sorry, and I said, you know, not necessary. I'm a big fan of yours and he had some good, kind words to say, so that was cool to hear from him. But don't expect that.

I don't expect Joe Rogan to apologize. I don't expect him to even see this. I'd rather he didn't even see any of this. And you know I'm not upset. I'm not salty about it. I was salty about it for a couple of days.

Stamann feels he had earned the people s respect by defeating a fighter of Duquesnoy s caliber. As he moves forward in his UFC career, he is now targeting number six-ranked Bryan Caraway, whom he already has a bone to pick with.

I met him at Xtreme Couture and, you know, the dude really didn't give me the time of day, Stamann said of his first encounter with Caraway. I mean, he was kind of a dick to me, so I wanted to fight him just on a personal level, but now you know he's ranked really high, so now I wanna fight him on a personal level and I just don't think he's that good. I don't think he's that good. He's got a weird style. He takes guys down and grinds them out, and I don't get taken down in MMA.

That dude can't take me down. So I could bang on him and beat him up, but unfortunately he's fighting December 9th, but I'm honestly staying ready because of something happens to Luke Saunders I'm going to jump on that. I'm going to be all over Sean Shelby and tell him I wanna fight Bryan Caraway.

Stamann s interview begins at the 42:56 mark of the video.
