Dana White: Ronda Rousey is underrated, look at what she built

Get the Full StoryUFC president Dana White continues to sing Ronda Rousey s praises. Ronda Rousey was once deemed as the world s most dominant athlete. Back during her time as the UFC bantamweight champion, she was part of almost every MMA highlight reel, and at one point, was even pitted to win against fighters such as Floyd Mayweather Jr. or many of his male bantamweight MMA counterparts.

But all of it ended in one snap when she was knocked out by Holly Holm in 2015. She tried to make one more run against Amanda Nunes last December, only to be stopped in less than a minute.

There are so far no signs of a Ronda Rousey return to MMA. But UFC president Dana White has made sure that people remember his once prized star for all of her accomplishments as a fighter.

She's underrated, White said during an appearance on the Pardon My Sports podcast via MMA Mania . Look at what she did. Look at what she built. She started it all."

White further explains that apart from her streak as champion, Rousey also carried herself in a way that made a strong statement to fans around the world and paved the way for women s MMA.

"You had such a dominant female fighter," White added. "She was so bad ass and she spoke well and she was pretty. That whole combination of what she was, built that whole female mixed martial arts phenomenon. She was the right person at the right time to do it.

Rousey seems to have shifted her focus to a possible WWE career along with husband Travis Browne.
