Get the Full StoryThat still may look like it came out of the opening for a 90s Aaron Spelling primetime soap opera called West Hollywood, 90069, but it’s actually a still from the first trailer for the 2018 reboot of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy that EVERYONE has been screaming for. And now I’m really sad that we never got a 90s Aaron Spelling primetime soap opera called West Hollywood, 90069.When Netflix first announced that they had given mouth-to-mouth to Queer Eye which was killed off by Bravo in 2007 , they burped up some eye roll-worthy statement about how their new Fab 5 will work at bringing this divided country a little bit closer together. The new Fab 5 will save us all! Netflix didn’t back away from that angle, because a few seconds into the trailer for the reboot, one of the Queer Eyes made my queer eyes roll by saying, “The original show was fighting for tolerance, our fight is for acceptance.”
The new Fab 5 is Bobby Berk design , Karamo Brown culture , Antoni Porowski food and wine , Jonathan from Gay of Thrones grooming and Tan France fashion , and just like the original, they all pounce on a homely, ugly-dressed straight guy and sprinkle fabulousness on every part of his life. But this time around, the Fab 5 take on the Red States and hillbilly Trump supporters. I can’t wait to see the episode where the Fab 5 bedazzle a MAGA hat and turn a confederate flag into a casual cape that can be worn with some skinny jeans for a night out at Cracker Barrel. Here’s the full trailer. While watching it, you may or may not say a wish for for the original Fab 5 to drop in and makeover this entire reboot.
Maybe I shouldn’t be so jaded and bitchy about this Hahaha, I know, I’m acting like I can be anything but jaded and bitchy. I mean, when Jonathan from Gay of Thrones gracefully parted his luxurious hair curtain at the 1:10 mark, my acne cleared up. So maybe this reboot will heal us all!
