Report: Carlos Condit vs. Matt Brown targeted for UFC Fight Night on April 14

Get the Full StoryThe UFC could be looking to book a welterweight scrap between Carlos Condit and Matt Brown. According to a report from MMA Weekly s Damon Martin, UFC heads are looking to pit welterweight legends Carlos Condit and Matt Brown against each other on April 14.

No location has been revealed, but it s expected that Condit and Brown will collide on a UFC Fight Night card.

Both men were originally scheduled to lock horns at UFC on FOX 9 in 2013 but Brown was forced to withdraw from the event due to injury.

The Immortal hinted at retirement after his brutal first-round knockout of Diego Sanchez in November but looks to have changed his mind after reportedly being offered a fight against The Natural Born Killer . Brown is 2-3 in his last five bouts and was once considered a serious contender in the welterweight division, losing to ex-champion Robbie Lawler in a title eliminator back in 2014.

Condit, the former interim 170-pound champion, fought and lost to pound-for-pound great Georges St-Piere in a title unification bout at UFC 154 and has since gone on to have mixed results in the Octagon, winning just two of his last seven fights. The fan favorite recently dropped a decision to Neil Magny at UFC 219 but is still considered one of the most entertaining fighters in the division.

Although both fighters are nearing the end of their careers, Condit vs. Brown is still a fantastic stylistic match-up and could be one of the most explosive fights of the year.
