McGregor to appear in NY court tomorrow, plea deal possible

Get the Full StoryConor McGregor s next court date is tomorrow, and he ll find out if he gets indicted or not. He could also work a plea deal. Tomorrow will be an important day in the life and career of Conor McGregor. The brash Irish fighter will make an appearance in a New York court to see if he will be indicted on charges stemming from his bus attack before UFC 223. And according to New York attorney Dmitriy Shakhnevich while speaking to the LA Times , a plea deal is at least a possibility here:

Basically on Thursday, Conor is appearing in court to see if he was indicted before the district attorney can proceed to trial. ... If I were a betting man, I d say that unless some plea will be worked out Thursday, an indictment will probably be filed by the court.

The article states that a plea deal would likely include probation, a fine, and community service. If there isn t a deal and he is indicted, it would lead to more court appearances and the likelihood of a trial, so a plea agreement at some point seems likely.

This all came about due to an April 5th incident where McGregor and his entourage attacked a bus that was carrying Khabib Nurmagomedov and other UFC fighters. McGregor threw a dolly through a window, injuring Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg enough to force them out of their fights the next day at UFC 223. He was arrested, charged with a felony and multiple misdemeanors, and spent a night in jail.

Now we ll see if this drags out, or McGregor can settle it and potentially get on with his fighting career. He has not competed since an August 2017 boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr., and hasn t entered the Octagon since late 2016.
