Sylvester Stallone Is Currently Being Investigated For Sexual Assault

Get the Full StoryI think we can all agree the 90s were Sylvester Stallone’s worst years. Rocky V. Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. Planet Hollywood. As it turns out, there’s yet another gross stain on that decade for Sly. According to Deadline, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office is currently investigating Sylvester Stallone over an alleged sexual assault that took place in the 1990s.

Deadline reports that this stems from a complaint made late last year. This shouldn’t be confused with the woman who claimed late last year that Sylvester assaulted her when she was 16. That was a different woman, and a different decade the 80s . This woman, who remains anonymous, went to the police in November 2017 and filed a police report with the Santa Monica Police. She claimed that sometime in the early-90s, she was raped by Sylvester during a meeting at his office. The statute of limitations for sexual assault or battery in California is 10 years, which would have made this woman’s complaint past the point of prosecution. However, police still decided to investigate.

Yesterday, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the Santa Monica Police Department handed over all notes and interviews to a D.A.’s special task force. It’s not known if police have spoken to Sylvester Stallone yet, but when they do, I have a feeling it will sound like this:

Because Sylvester Stallone is denying the assault. When the police report was first filed, his attorney Marty Singer told USA Today that he believed the woman in question was a woman Sylvester had a consensual relationship with for less than a week while filming a movie in Israel back in 1987. Marty repeated much of the same in a new statement he gave to Deadline:

“If this is the same woman, he categorically disputes this. We have two witnesses who have come forward to deny her statements. One woman came forward and said that she was asked to lie for this woman to say it occurred. We have nothing to hide here.”

Another of Sylvester’s attorneys, Blair Berk, has reportedly told police that if it is the same woman, Sylvester Stallone wants to file his own report accusing her of filing a false police report.

The D.A. really can’t really prosecute Sylvester because of the statute of limitations. I guess all they can really do is announce the conclusion they arrived at. Whatever the outcome, it will be an ok day for Frank Stallone. For once in recent memory, he won’t be the Stallone brother trending on Twitter for being the subject of something awful.
