Ant-Man And The Wasp EP Dishes On Ghost; New Action Shots Emerge

Get the Full StoryHannah John-Kamen is a star on the rise.

Buoyed by her performances across Tomb Raider and Ready Player One, the so-hot-right-now actress is poised for her first MCU gig in the form of Ant-Man and the Wasp, in which she plays the villainous Ghost.

It’s a totally new take on the classic character, too, given Bob Layton’s creation was originally introduced to comic book readers as a male antagonist capable of giving Iron Man a run for his money in the tech department. This time around, though, Hannah John-Kamen is bringing her own twist to Ghost, who manages to escape from the Quantum Realm just as Ant-Man and the Wasp begins.

And while promoting the imminent Marvel sequel to IGN, executive producer Stephen Broussard described John-Kamen’s incarnation as “a new interpretation of Ghost, which was a classic character created by Bob Layton and David Michelinie which was primarily an Iron Man villain based on more technology.”

Those comments from Broussard arrived in tandem with a series of Ghost-centric photos see above , which shift the spotlight over to Hannah John-Kamen’s elusive character. And make no mistake, as Broussard tells IGN, this is a villain draped in mystery even if she’s been secretly acting as a front for the sequel’s real big bad.

Broussard added:

In the comics, Ghost was a character of mystery. You didn t really know the alter ego of that person. You didn t know their real name. We thought that was a cool opportunity to create a character that was all about mystery and kind of what are the origins and what is the backstory, what is sic the goals and agendas of this person. It was a great vehicle for the kind of the story we wanted to tell … Suffice it to say that she is on a path and she is on a mission at odds with our heroes on this journey but of a similar goal, of a similar aim at the worst possible time for Scott Lang.

Headed up by Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Marvel’s titular duo, Ant-Man and the Wasp opens big on July 6th.
