Star Trek Discovery s Spock Actor Gets A Huge Nimoy Welcome

Get the Full StoryIs it too much of a stretch to say that Star Trek just wouldn’t be the same without Spock?

Whether it’s Leonard Nimoy or Zachary Quinto, everyone’s favorite Starfleet science officer brings a calm intelligence to the bridge, and just yesterday, it was announced that Star Trek Discovery had located its half-human, half-Vulcan after months of searching.

His name? Ethan Peck, star of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and 10 Things I Hate About You, who has climbed aboard to play the foster brother of Michael Burnham The Walking Dead‘s Sonequa Martin-Green in what is shaping up to be a much lighter batch of episodes than the debut season.

And it seems Peck has already been welcomed into the extended Star Trek universe, after the actor posted a candid photo of him alongside the Nimoy family. Vulcan salutes all around!

Thanks to the Nimoy family for your open arms, warm welcome, smiling curiosity and support, for making me feel worthy, as I embrace and take into my heart the iconic half alien we know as Mr. Spock. It is an incomparable honor.

Taking on such an iconic role for Star Trek Discovery season 2 is an “incomparable honor,” and Peck will be hoping that his own rendition of Spock, much like Leonard Nimoy’s and Zachary Quinto’s before him, will be able to live long and prosper! in the Trek universe.

Also starring Doug Jones, Jason Isaacs, Anthony Rapp, season 2 of Star Trek Discovery is expected to premiere via CBS All Access early next year, and only then will we be able to gauge Peck’s performance as he takes charge of what is undoubtedly one of the more prominent roles in the entire Trek series.
