Kevin Spacey’s New Movie Brought In Only 126 On Its Opening Day

Get the Full StoryKevin Spacey, right? He was that guy who was on the biggest show on Netflix and then we all found out he was an alleged huge pervert and he got fired from that same hugely popular show? You remember. Well, he had a new movie called Billionaire Boys Club that was supposed to be released but after all the shit hit the fan, and then continued to hit the fan, they decided it would be best to not make such a big deal about the whole thing.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie was released on Video-On-Demand last month and then it was decided to quietly open the film this Friday. They must have fucking whispered about it in a soundproof room located in the Earth’s core, because absolutely NO ONE heard about it and the movie brought in a staggering 126 on opening day.

THR is petty and put it into a mathematical summary for all of us: “Put another way, that’s a per location average of 12.60, which doesn’t even equal two tickets if going by the current average ticket price of 9.27.” They even broke down the places where the movie did best, which was in Connecticut, where the movie earned a stunning 45.

Vertical Entertainment, who distributed the film, made a statement about the release a while ago, and it’s sort of like a psychic prediction of the huge fail to come:

“We hope these distressing allegations pertaining to one person’s behavior that were not publicly known when the film was made almost two-and-a-half years ago and from someone who has a small, supporting role in Billionaire Boys Club does not tarnish the release of the film… In the end, we hope audiences make up their own minds as to the reprehensible allegations of one person s past, but not at the expense of the entire cast and crew present on this film.”

Welp, looks like you were wrong, girl. And those other people in the cast they’re talking about? There’s a bunch of other people in this movie who aren’t huge sexual deviants, like Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton, Emma Roberts, Jeremy Irvine, Cary Elwes, Judd Nelson and Billie Lourd. Unfortunately for them, no one watched the movie. Fortunately for them, they probably still got paid for it.

Looks like Ridley Scott did the right thing replacing Kevin in All the Money in the World, because all the money in the world couldn’t get people to watch a Kevin Spacey movie.
