Diaz to Poirier after UFC 230 removal: You ain t about this life

Get the Full StoryNate Diaz reacts to Dustin Poirier s injury that led to his withdrawal from their scheduled fight at UFC 230 this November. Last week, UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier was forced out of his scheduled UFC 230 fight against Nate Diaz due to an undisclosed injury. On Monday, he revealed on the MMA Hour that it was due to a nagging hip injury that he has been dealing with for his past few fights.

This is something I ve been dealing with the last few camps, and it just progressively got worse, Poirier said. And then I did something with it this camp to where you know, like, I can still move around on it, I can still train, but if, say, I do a sprint, the next two days my range of motion is going to be horrible and I m going to be in a lot of pain. It just got too bad to keep pushing at this point with it.

Apart from expressing interest to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov instead, Diaz never really spoke about Poirier s injury and eventual removal from the card. On Tuesday, he issued a response via a single tweet.

If u can t make it to war u lose the warU ain t bout this life... Nathan Diaz NateDiaz209 October 15, 2018

It did not take long before Poirier to answer back.

If anyone knows about losing the war it's you... you've lost half of them that you been in. https: t.co ovrDu6JkVF The Diamond DustinPoirier October 15, 2018
