Get the Full StoryIn what I imagine is either a quest to get picked as the go-to stock picture for frames at the local Hallmark shop or another way to show they re #justlikeus, Prince Charles& Co. released two family photos to coincide with his 70thbirthday today. Apparently, THE QUEEN did not get the invitation to the party!

Like, happy birthday and all, Chucky, but maybe invite Big Mama in for the photo? A royal slight isn t going to get her keister off the throne any faster! Anywho, they also released one to show they can pretend to be fun and laugh at something. Y know, like having the British public foot the bill on their livelihood of shaking hands and causing fashion websites to crash:

I m sure the photographer just told them he heard Fergie had resorted to being a spokesperson for Tesco. Anywho, People describes the candid photos I know, I laughed too as showing the close family bond between Prince George and Charles as well as Prince Charlotte and Duchess Camilla. I m sure Duchess Kate read that and was like, Whew! That pay raise in their allowance did the trick! Other tidbits is that Kate s dress was actually the same one that Duchess Meghan s old Suits costar Abigail Spencer wore to the royal wedding in May. My personal observation is who forgot to tell Meggy about the blue-and-white motif?? The 70th birthday fete didn t stop at photography!

People also says Charles was the guest editor of the current issue of Country Life, where he and Prince William gab about the future king s environmentalist ways that will go out the window if grandma ever lets him wear her crown . Charles is doing his part to save the endangered red squirrel, whose population has fallen from 3.5 million to 250,000 while he s been alive. William explains what his dad does and it sounds like it involves offering up the squirrels as a replacement to THE QUEEN s corgis:

He is completely infatuated by the red squirrels that live around the Birkhall estate in Scotland to the extent that he s given them names and is allowing them into the house!

Dammit, Charles. That photo almost had us believing you were a normal person. William said his dad s concern for the environment is something he wants to instill in his own kids, but I m still focusing on the squirrels. Charles offered up more details:

They come into the house at Birkhall and we get them chasing each other round and round inside. If I sit there quietly, they will do so around me. Sometimes, when I leave my jackets on a chair with nuts in the pockets, I see them with their tails sticking out, as they hunt for nuts they are incredibly special creatures.

There you have it. On his 70th birthday, the future king of England shows he s basically the weirdo in your local park who is only friends with the pigeons. Eh, that s still probably easier to deal with the 90 of the other royals!
