Cristiano Ronaldo Pled Guilty To Tax Fraud To Avoid The Spanish Slammer

Get the Full StoryUncle Sam s Spanish cousin is out with a vengeance, and cue up the Whoopi Goldberg You in danger, girl GIF for Shakira! Cristiano Ronaldo pled guilty today in Spanish court to tax fraud. He agreed to pony up nearly 22 million in fees and serve a two-year suspended jail sentence aka no time behind bars . I m mainly just here for the photos that look like only Crispy s girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, realized they were there for a sentencing and not Madrid Fashion Week.

E! News says the reason why Cristiano won t be serving time is because judges in Spain are allowed to take away actual jail time for sentences of two years or less if it is the person s first offense. Apparently, Cristiano s numerous fashion offenses don t count in the eyes of Spanish law. On a darker note, Cristiano is still facing charges for a rape allegation he firmly denies.

In all, Crispy spent 45 minutes in court today and didn t make any official comments about the charges. He still managed to be all smiles with fans outside as though he had just won the World Cup instead of winning wage garnishments for the foreseeable future.

The whole tax matter stems from Cristiano s time playing for his old team, Real Madrid. He was accused of tax fraud on FOUR counts between 2011 and 2014. Crispy initially denied hiding moolah made off his image rights, but then he walked that back and got a plea deal after likely learning they wouldn t give him hair gel behind bars. It s been a busy few months for the Spanish tax man. He already has his hands full trying to chase down Shakira and her tax-lyin hips for 16.3 million in back taxes. I guess she and Crispy had Laundry Service AND laundering service! You can ch-ch-check out more from Cristiano s courtroom-turned-pap stroll from earlier today below:
