Grappling Report: Gordon Ryan to undergo surgery on injured knee

Bad news grappling fans, Gordon Ryan will likely be out of competition for the next couple of months.After suffering an injury against Joao Gabriel Rocha at Kasai Super Series, there was some hope that Ryan would be able to recover without surgery, but it looks like that won t be the case.
According to a report by BJJ news site grapplinginsider.com, Ryan is to undergo reconstructive LCL surgery next week and a time line for his return isn t yet known. In the hierarchy of knee injuries, an LCL tear isn t the worst of the worst, but it is a serious injury nonetheless and Ryan will need to push hard if he is to get fit in time for the upcoming ADCC, which goes down in California in September.

Arrest made after Elaine Perez Caparroz, the mother of Rayron Gracie, was violently assaulted by Vin cius Batista Serra. Serra, a BJJ brown belt, allegedly had a psychotic episode during which he bit and strangled Caparroz.
