Adam Levine s The Voice Exit: NBC Is Pissed And He s Supposedly Leaving Due To The Show s Changes

Get the Full StoryDespite Carson Daly trying to douse any gossip on Today over Adam Levine s planned exit from The Voice, the real story seems to be coming out. Adam flirting heavily with Blake Shelton was apparently NBC s favorite part of the show. So the news that he s leaving isn t sitting well with the network. The word now is that he s been wanting to leave for a while as well having an ongoing shit fit about changes made in the show s structure. He alleged openly demonstrated so during the taping of the show s semi-finals on May 12 and at the NBC upfronts the next day. So NBC, unchange shit and let Adam share Blake s chair with him. Problem solved.

The Voice introduced Live Cross Battles as a new competition feature in April. This got Adam s tattoos in a snit, according to People.

In this new round, two coaches go head to head in a live schoolyard pick by each selecting one artist from their team to go up against another team s artist. Each artist performs an individual song, and their fate is decided by a viewer vote.

Adam hates this change and took a break from eye-fucking Gwen Stefani s honey long enough to loudly complain at the May 12 taping, according to Page Six.

In a preview of the Live Cross Battles, Levine said the round made the show feel like the wild west out there now and this wasn t a good thing.

He didn t get the singer to coach that he wanted and said so.

Levine s disgruntlement with alterations to The Voice s format rose to the surface. I still don t understand how you re not on my team. I don t think anybody does, just cause it s weird how it works now, he said. I m still learning the rules of the new show.

Adam s been knocked out of the current season and doesn t have a singing horse in the race anymore so he could care less and apparently let NBC know that he didn t think he needed to be at that taping. He was reportedly so difficult that he wouldn t offer commentary on the other judges performers and scared Carson so much that he stopped going to Adam for his take.

And then there was the next day. The four judges performed together at the NBC upfronts and Adam supposedly phoned it in so bad that NBC executives wished that they had a trap door or a neck hook to drag his ungrateful ass off the stage. He makes 26 million a year being a Voice judge coach.

Paul Telegdy was said to be particularly incensed. The co-chairman of NBC Entertainment witnessed Levine s performance firsthand and, per multiple sources, was not happy with what he saw. One insider says the exec was embarrassed and furious that Levine exhibited such indifference in front of the very people read: advertisers who pay his 26 million annual salary.

Telegdy reportedly wanted Adam fired immediately but he was talked out of it. It does appear that this was a mutual decision, though a source says that Adam might make visits in the future.

He s been with the show since its inception in 2011 and Gwen Stefani is coming back to replace him. So get your barf bags ready and pray they keep John Legend or Kelly Clarkson in a chair between them or people are going to get diabetes and die over their nauseating cutesy love stunts.
