It looks like Greg Hardy will fight a little sooner than expected, and on a different continent. The UFC has been slowly building controversial heavyweight Greg Hardy, and the next bout they had originally booked for him seemed like a bit of a farce. He was scheduled to fight in Singapore on October 18th against Jarjis Danho, a 35-year-old with zero wins in the UFC and who hasn t fought in three years.

But it appears that Danho has pulled out of the fight, and Hardy has a new date, location, and opponent. Brett Okamoto of ESPN explains:

Breaking: Greg Hardy's next fight in the UFC will take place on Oct. 18 in Boston, rather than Oct. 26 in Singapore as originally planned. His initial opponent, Jarjis Danho, pulled out. New opponent is Contender Series alum Ben Sosoli. Brett Okamoto bokamotoESPN September 20, 2019

New opponent Sosoli 7-2, 1 NC was Kelvin Gastelum s first pick on The Ultimate Fighter 28, but he was eliminated in his quarter-final matchup. He has fought three times in 2019, going 1-1 with 1 NC. That NC came on Dana White s Tuesday Night Contender Series against Dustin Joynson, after an accidental eye poke.

Hardy 5-1, 2-1 UFC has picked up two first-round TKOs since being disqualified in his UFC debut. The former NFL player is taking his fourth fight of 2019.

UFC Boston goes down October 18th in the TD Garden, and will be headlined by Chris Weidman s light heavyweight debut against Dominick Reyes.
