Fergie Came To The Defense Of Duchess Meghan

Get the Full StoryWe all know that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry won t be spending Christmas with Queen Elizabeth who is said to be very disappointed , which adds one more layer to the theory pushed by the British press that Meghan is tearing Harry s family apart. The Sussexes are currently suing the British press for what they believe is a deliberate attack on Meghan s character. The Queen and the rest of the royal family could have leaped into action and helped Harry defend his wife, but they haven t done that. However, there is one surprising public cheerleader in Meghan s corner, and that s Sarah, Duchess of York.

Fergie recently did an interview with Vogue Arabia, and in it besides Fergie once again kissing Prince Andrew s ass , Vogue argues that Fergie is kind of like the Meghan of the 1980s. Fergie agrees. She acknowledged Vogue s suggestion that ever since she married Prince Andrew in 1986, her life has been under a microscope that she wasn t really used to before she got married and became a duchess. Fergie has aristocracy in her blood, but she didn t have any kind of formal title when she got married, so being a royal was new to her. So when she sees the press side-eyeing all of Meghan s choices, she gets it.

I know what Meghan is going through. It must be hard for Meghan, and I can relate to her. I believe she is modern and fabulous. She was famous before. She is great. Why can t Meghan be great? Why can t she be celebrated?

As for what kind of advice Fergie would give to Meghan, well she wouldn t. Really? No advice? Not even that she should always check the room for hot mics first before trading prince gossip for money? Nope. All Fergie wants to tell Meghan is that being a duchess is no walk in the garden.

I tend not to give advice because it is taken out of context, but I have been in Meghan s shoes, and I still am. There s always a twist of negativity and it just gets so sad and tiring; it s hard and mean. I abhor bullying and I feel desperately sorry for the pain they must be going through because I ve been through it.

Meghan claimed in the ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, that one of her British friends allegedly warned her not to marry Harry, because the press would eat her alive. Now we ve got Fergie pretty much confirming that being a duchess kind of sucks. Well, you know once you take away the expensive clothes, free house, jewels, trips, and vacations.
