Hard tech skills are impressive and all, but recruiters say that companies look for soft skills, too. In fact, it's those soft skills you don't learn in school things like communication, adaptability, and time management that can really help you get ahead.

Susan Vitale, chief marketing officer for HR software provider iCIMS, puts it best: "Hard skills are what you do, and soft skills are how you do it."
