Thousands of people rallied outside Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's home in Hancock Park on Tuesday.

The crowd grew in size in the lead up to the 6 p.m. local time curfew before it finally began dispersing, KTLA reported.

"We want to make sure that what happened to George Floyd does not ever happen again to someone that just looks like me," Davion Pilgrim, a 16-year-old student, said at a press conference with Garcetti Tuesday night. "Losing our lives to police officers is one of the biggest fears that we have in South LA."

The mayor's comments came after many of his city's residents raged at law enforcement, in the streets and on a Zoom conference hosted by the Los Angeles Police Commission.
