Three R. Kelly Associates Have Been Arrested For Witness Harassment, Bribery, And Intimidation

Get the Full StorySince Robert Sylvester Kelly can t read the news, I hope somebody at Chicago Metropolitan Correctional Center broke it to him quite rudely that three of his alleged friends associates sycophants have been arrested for allegedly trying to harass, intimidate and bribe the alleged victims of R&B singer R. Kelly, who faces charges there New York and in Chicago. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a federal court in Brooklyn has charged Richard Arline Jr., Donnell Russell, and Michael Williams, with three different schemes involving alleged victims of Robert. The nice one emphasis mine allegedly tried to bribe a woman to not cooperate with feds, and the other two allegedly took more punitive approaches using blackmail and intimidation. That s a helluva limb to out on for a friend. Joke s on them, though. They won t be receiving any thank you cards signed with one shaky backward R . Robert says he didn t have anything to do with it. First the alleged rapes, sex trafficking and child pornography and now we find out he s a shitty friend too? Robert really is the worst.

The first pal, Richard, is the one who allegedly tried to bribe one of Robert s alleged victims in keeping her mouth shut.

Arline was arrested in his hometown of Dolton and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Young Kim in Chicago, prosecutors said. They described him as a self-proclaimed longtime friend of Kelly. His scheme allegedly involved discussing a 500,000 payment to a victim to keep her from cooperating with the government, according to the feds.

During a recorded phone call, Arline allegedly claimed he had been in touch with Kelly while Kelly was behind bars via a three-way call with another person.

Arline allegedly said, If I had a way to talk to Rob Kelly , being next to him and telling him what s going on, without nobody listening to, no feds, nobody, he gonna pay her . . . off to be quiet, adding she got too much. She got too much.

Sounds like a really genius operation at work here. Real criminal fucking masterminds. This is the quality crime you can expect when you pay people in cold hard clout; the modern-day equivalent to magic beans. The second buddy charged, Donnell, is accused of harassing and intimidating an alleged Kelly victim after she filed a lawsuit against Kelly.

The feds called him a self-described manager, advisor and friend of Kelly. They say he threatened to reveal sexually explicit photos of her and to publicly reveal her sexual history if she did not end her lawsuit. Using an alias, he also allegedly created a Facebook page called Surviving Lies a play on the title of the documentary series Surviving R. Kelly and posted screen shots of text messages between Kelly and the victim.

The third amigo is reportedly a relative of an individual who once served as a publicist for Kelly, and is accused of setting fire in June to an SUV parked outside a Florida home where an alleged Kelly victim and others had been staying. This charge seems a bit shaky though, aren t all SUVs in Florida eventually set on fire for some reason or another? According to TMZ:

Kelly s attorney, Steven Greenberg, tells TMZ his team just learned about these charges against Kelly s so-called associates. Without question, Robert Kelly had nothing to do with any of these alleged acts by those charged. He has not attempted to intimidate anyone, or encouraged anyone else to do so. No involvement whatsoever.

However, CST reminds us that prosecutors have repeatedly suggested Kelly might try to interfere with the case against him, and TMZ notes that he was denied bail back in October of last year after prosecutors feared tampering and or witness intimidation. So while it s 100 believable that Robert hasn t got a friend in this world, I wouldn t be surprised to find out he s got some compelling dirt on a lot of the shitty dudes who helped him get where he is today. And hopefully, where he ll be for years and years to come.
