The Passion Of The Christ Sequel Is Still Happening

Get the Full StoryThe Passion of the Christ, a 2004 movie that ended with the lead character s death, is getting a sequel. Which is something that I m certain no one asked for, except maybe Mel Gibson, and Jim Caviezel. It s been two years since we first learned that TPOTC was getting a sequel, and nothing has really been said since then regarding the film s development. Jim Caviezel, aka Onscreen Jesus, recently spoke about the sequel, and he claims production is chugging along at full steam steam from water or wine, your choice .

Jim recently spoke to hard grimace Brietbart about the project, which doesn t have a release date. But it does have a title and a script, apparently. You probably thought the movie was over when Jesus was killed, right? Nope! There s more story for Mel Gibson to tell. This is despite the fact that the talking cucumber from Veggie Tales kind of already covered resurrection and ascension I taught Sunday School, can you believe it? . But for those who really want to see more of Mel s drippy, bloody, gooey, rode hard and put up on the cross wet version of Jesus, they ll get it in the sequel, which will focus on Jesus death and subsequent resurrection.

Mel Gibson just sent me the third picture, the third draft, the 51-year-old actor said. It s coming. It s called The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection. It s going to be the biggest film in world history.

Mel better have a good script if he wants to get enough people out for Passion 2 to break even at this point. And Jim s got to bring the razzle-dazzle to his performance of Jesus. Which he should be doing anyway, considering he s a nearly 52-year-old man playing a 33-year-old virgin. Because if they really want this to be the biggest film in world history, they ve got to defeat the current biggest foe to face Film Jesus. It s not nails or Judas, it s COVID! The COVID-19 pandemic had a movie like Tenet going to Warner Bros. and whispering, Forgive me, brother, for I have sinned. I barely brought in any box office dollars, because no one wants to risk their life for big screens and hot popcorn! Even Mel Gibson couldn t pray hard enough to protect himself from COVID. To be fair, Mel s prayers probably sound like backward talk to God. At the very least, holy water sizzles the second it touches his skin.
