Whittaker is fresh off an impressive decision win against Jared Cannonier this past weekend at UFC 254. Defeating Darren Till by decision in July, Whittaker is unbeaten since October 2019 when he lost his title to current champion Israel Adesanya.

Meanwhile, Costa 13-1 is coming off the first loss of his professional career to Adesanya at UFC 253. The Brazilian had won five straight UFC fights at 185-pounds before the loss.
