After Blaming Her Quiet Tesla For The Death Of Her Cats, Jamie Lynn Spears Clarifies That Elon Musk Is Not At Fault

Get the Full StoryCats already have plenty to worry about, not the least of which is the prospect of being adopted by Justin Bieber or portrayed in crack-induced Hollywood train wrecks by sweaty actors swathed in yards of dead Muppet fur and making everyone s ears bleed by, well, caterwauling. Not to mention a nervous feline s usual daily round of dodging a host of hungry, fanged beasts out in the wild in search of a quick meal. Being a cat is not for the faint of heart, and just to get us all caught up on this weird-ass story, 29-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears initially claimed that her quiet, possible-predator of a Tesla was also a lethal threat to our little cat friends.

In a since-deleted Instagram Story, Jamie Lynn tearfully shared that some of her family s cats had died thanks to the Tesla that Elon Musk s team designed to be too quiet to serve as an effective warning system for any kitties sheltering underneath. Um, I hear horns are pretty good at serving that purpose, but no one asked me. Now, if Elon is going to be accused of any tragic shenanigans concerning cats, I d expect them to involve a shady launch into space or giving them trauma-inducing names that are impossible to spell or pronounce. Here are some highlights of Jamie Lynn s initial grievances, via MSN:

In a since-deleted video shared to the Zoey 101 star s Instagram Story, via TMZ, Jamie reveals that she s none too happy with the car manufacturer, who she claims is responsible for the deaths of an unspecified number of cats. I know there s much bigger things going on in the world right now, but somebody s gotta let Elon Musk know that the Tesla is a secret cat killer and it s a problem that we really got to fix, she says in the video. We have now lost I don t even want to tell you how many cats.

The mom of two goes on to explain that the animals simply can t hear the electric car turn on, leading to some unfortunate tragedies, which she chose not to detail. All she can say about the vehicular accidents is that it s really devastating and tragic for everyone involved.

Elon Musk, let s figure this out. I mean, you owe me a couple cats.

Here s the video, and Twitter user Kevin Michael is referring to the 2017 ATV accident that put Jamie Lynn s daughter Maddie in critical condition.

HOLD UP!!

How many cats has Jamie Lynn run over that she thinks this is necessary???

Bad enough her own human child almost died because of negligence, but now she s not even responsible enough to have a cat either?

So now we re caught up on the initial complaints and losses. Since that time, however, Jamie Lynn clarified that she hasn t murdered her cats with her car and Elon Musk is off the hook. According to The Daily Mail:

After sparking headlines with a since-deleted video on her Instagram Story on Friday, the 29-year-old returned to social media after feeling her words were misconstrued.

While the star previously linked her beloved felines passings to accidents involving her electric car, she wrote that she did not run over any cats and that Tesla was not to be blamed, and was never intended to be.

User error is admittedly involved, the mother-of-two continued in another vague explanation, which did not specify how her cats were killed. We always check for animals before moving vehicle.

Speaking of her suggestion for Tesla s cars to be equipped with a noisemaker, she noted she was only making a suggestion about something that she thought would be extremely helpful, and the geniuses at Tesla are the best to go to for said issue.

The younger sister of Britney Spears concluded, Here s ya quote . I friggin love my Tesla Jamie Lynn Spears.

Here s where we all scratch our heads and wonder just how these poor kitties met their untimely end, and what role the Tesla s quietness, if any, played in it. Were they run over or not? Was Jamie Lynn at the wheel? What are we supposed to believe? We have no real answers at this time and hopefully, the blanks will be filled in so we can all use this as a cautionary tale to protect the cats we love.

In the meantime, I leave you with this day-old pic a bizarre choice for her to post, under the circumstances from Jamie Lynn s IG. And while this flashy little red number is far more glamorous than a Tesla and probably makes more safety-enhancing noise , just look at the guilty grin on that pup s face .
