Jodie Sweetin Got Knocked Down By Police At A Pro-Choice Protest In Los Angeles

Get the Full StoryNot too long after the dogshit decision by SCOTUS to overturn Roe v. Wade was made official on Friday, many people took to the streets to protest, both the famous and non-famous alike. And one of those famous types who was angry enough to pound the pavement in the name of body autonomy was none other than Stephanie Tanner herself, Jodie Sweetin. Jodie likely expected her time protesting might involve chanting My body, my choice or HOW RUDE of you to restrict abortion access. But the reality ended up being one in which Jodie was aggressively and unceremoniously knocked to the ground by LAPD. And we know this because it was filmed and the video was thrown up onto the internet for all to see.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the protest Jodie was participating in happened on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. The protest took place on Saturday and was attended by pro-choice activists and members of the Los Angeles Police Department. According to the video uploaded after the incident took place, the police got physical with protesters including Jodie who was thrown and eventually lost her balance and fell. But just like one of Danny Tanner s kids would, Jodie gets back up, dusts herself off, and keeps on keeping on, which in this case means she leads the protesters in a repeated chorus of No justice, no peace.

It pained me to see JodieSweetin thrown to the ground by members of the LAPD as she was trying to lead a group of peaceful protestors away from the freeway SMH LAPDHQ what are y all doing? pic.twitter.com 1oizimOyaA

Jodie later released this statement regarding the video. via THR:

I m extremely proud of the hundreds of people who showed up yesterday to exercise their First Amendment rights and take immediate action to peacefully protest the giant injustices that have been delivered from our Supreme Court. Our activism will continue until our voices are heard and action is taken. This will not deter us, we will continue fighting for our rights. We are not free until ALL of us are free.

The LAPD also had something to say about that video, and shockingly it s not a casual, Yikes, our bad! . They claim they were just trying to prevent protesters from walking directly onto the highway they were technically protesting on the shoulder , but that higher-ups will be looking at the video to evaluate the evidence against LAPD s policy and procedure. Yeah, they better go over that video with a fine-tooth comb and come to an acceptable conclusion. Because if they don t, they re going to have to deal with more than just Jodie and her battery-operated bullhorn again. Someone will be out for vengeance, and that person will be Stephanie Tanner s longtime ally and companion Mr. Bear. And they ll never see it coming, either. Mr. Bear wears a trenchcoat and a fedora that tells me he s some kind of private detective. Whichever officer is responsible for tossing Jodie to the ground better not act surprised when they receive a brown envelope covered in traces of honey and polyester stuffing, containing a picture of them parked illegally across two handicap spots at the grocery store with a little note that reads, This you? .
