Johnny Depp Joked About Assassinating The President

Get the Full StoryJohnny Depp has made it no secret that he likes Donald Trump about as much as personal grooming and selling his fancy rich people things. Johnny made fun of Trump in a 50-minute parody of The Art Of The Deal for Funny or Die last year, and again on Ellen. He came for Trump again last night, and this time, it may have caused the Secret Service to open up a file on him if they haven’t already .

Before a drive-in screening of his 2004 film The Libertine at the Glastonbury Festival in England, Johnny, who looked like Mr. Quaker Oats’ homeless nephew, introduced the movie and did a Q&A with the audience. The Guardian says the topic of Trump came up and Johnny said that Trump needs help. Then Johnny drunkenly mumbled out a not-at-all subtle assassination joke.

“Can we bring Trump here? I think he needs help and there are a lot of wonderful dark, dark places he could go. It is just a question – I’m not insinuating anything. By the way, this is going to be in the press. It will be horrible. I like that you are all a part of it. When was the last time an actor assassinated a president? I want to clarify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living. However, it has been a while and maybe it is time.”

Secret Service staff assistant Shawn Holtzclaw tells CNN that they’re aware of Johnny’s remarks, but can’t discuss it for security reasons. People who are discussing it are some fans on Twitter. UsWeekly says it didn’t take long for people to slap at Johnny online for making such a joke while Rep. Steve Scalise and lobbyist Matt Mika are still in in the hospital after being shot. The White House also released a statement saying that Johnny should follow Trump’s lead and grab some pussies instead of making death threats.

“President Trump has condemned violence in all forms and it’s sad that others like Johnny Depp have not followed his lead. I hope that some of Mr. Depp s colleagues will speak out against this type of rhetoric as strongly as they would if his comments were directed to a Democrat elected official.”

So far, Johnny hasn’t caught as much shit as Kathy Griffin did for her joke about Trump.

That “last time” Johnny was referring to would of course be back in 1865 when John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln. I know they share a name and similar facial hair and bathing habits porcelain bowl filled with dirty pump water and crusty dry cake of lye soap . But I don’t know if Johnny Depp should be comparing himself to John Wilkes Booth. I mean, John Wilkes Booth would have actually had to memorize his lines.

Here’s Johnny at the screening of The Libertine last night posing on the hood of a vintage car. Oh come on Johnny, not cool – do you know how hard it is to get grease marks out of a custom paint job?
