They were some of the coolest candy to have when we were young and, hell, they're still pretty damn cool now.

And while the novelty was basically all in the dispenser, did you know that it was designed that way for a very specific reason?

Yep, Pez were originally marketed as anti-smoking mints. You used to only be able to get the candy in mint flavour, and Pez is actually a shortened version of the German word Pfefferminz, which means peppermint.
