Is This The New DC Extended Universe Slate?
Get the Full StoryThe times, they are a changin’ over at Warner Bros. and in particular, their DC Films division.As you no doubt know by now, the studio is already beginning to implement a major shake-up, beginning with the appointment of Walter Hamada It, The Conjuring as president. Further down the chain of command, Geoff Johns and former DC Films head Jon Berg will now assume different roles entirely the former will work alongside Roy Lee It: Chapter Two , while Johns is expected to hold an “advisory role” within the DC Extended Universe henceforth.
Not only that, but WB will no longer operate under a greenlighting-by-committee policy, with Warner Bros. Pictures Chairman Toby Emmerich expected to answer to “no one but Warner Bros. Entertainment CEO Kevin Tsujihara.” Furthermore, Sue Kroll, a 23-year veteran of the studio, has parted ways with Warner Bros., leaving the power to green-light future DC movies solely in the hands of Emmerich.
Speaking of which, there’s been much debate over which films we can 100 count on seeing at this point. The studio seems to have a habit of announcing projects for their cinematic universe only to never follow through and bring them to the screen. Ask any self-respecting DC fan and they’ll be able to name you at least 10 movies that are seemingly stuck in development hell, with no one really sure what the heck’s going on with them.
Seriously, if you count them all up, there’s actually 21 different DC Extended Universe films that are apparently all coming to the big screen at some point. But you, me and everyone else knows that only a fraction of those will actually get off the ground, and that’s where Mario-Francisco Robles of Revenge of the Fans comes in, as he’s now here to cut through the noise and give us the real, no BS slate for the burgeoning cinematic universe.
To begin, here are those 21 movies we just mentioned:

According to Robles, however, the real slate is as follows:
Aquaman
Shazam!
Wonder Woman 2
Suicide Squad 2
Flashpoint
The Batman
Looks quite different, eh? Robles also notes that Man of Steel 2 and Nightwing will be added to this updated list quite soon, as some official announcements in regards to both are coming down the pipeline. But at the moment, that’s how things stand, and honestly, it makes sense.
Like we said above, Warner Bros. has a bad habit of announcing projects that never go anywhere and so many titles on that initial list fall into that category. With what Robles suggests, we know that there’ve been real moves made on each of those movies, with most of them even having concrete release dates. Or at least, release windows.
Now, none of this is to say that all of those films Robles left off his version of the DC Extended Universe slate will be canned. Just that the only ones that we can 100 confirm will be seeing the inside of a theater are the 6 that he put forth. And again, what he’s suggesting is perfectly sound given what we know so far.
As for the others, until Warner Bros. makes some kind of official announcement on what we can expect to see, the majority of them will remain as they are now – “in-development.” And quite truthfully, we imagine a good deal of them will be quietly shelved as time goes on and plans change.
