Trump's racist framing of immigration issues appeals to his base and it won't change any time soon

President Donald Trump regularly doles out aggressive rhetoric against Latin Americans, Chinese, and others living in what he has called "s---hole countries."

His thinly-veiled racist rhetoric frames illegal immigrants as dangerous criminals — although this doesn't line up with available crime data — is often supported by his base.

The only "others" Trump doesn’t discriminate against are authoritarian leaders.

Standing in front of "angel families"– the PR-engineered moniker given to these unfortunate folks – Trump railed against his critics by highlighting the "death and destruction caused by people that shouldn't be here".

It was the most dramatic iteration yet of a familiar production: the framing of illegal immigrants from Latin America as dangerous criminals. It was also, as usual, a performance at odds with all available crime data, and that's why Trump will only deliver anecdotes instead of numbers in his long-running campaign to portray Latinos as criminals.See the rest of the story at Business InsiderNOW WATCH: Cigna's CEO says that the problem with healthcare in America has nothing to do with employersSee Also:The US and Iran will negotiate again before long and Putin will play a starring roleNative-born Americans outnumber unauthorized immigrant workers in every single industry or job, according to multiple studiesWHERE ARE THEY NOW?
