ONE Championship inks deal with Turner Sports

Get the Full StoryONE Championship will have a new broadcast home in the United States starting in 2019. ONE Championship has been busy signing former UFC champions Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson, as well as Sage Northcutt, and now they have themselves a broadcast deal in the United States.

ESPN s Ariel Helwani reported on Tuesday that the Asian MMA promotion has agreed to a three-year contract with Turner Sports, which means content will be placed on both TNT and the B R Live streaming service.

The Asia-based promotion has signed a three-year broadcast deal with Turner Sports, sources told ESPN.

The deal, which goes into effect on Jan. 1, calls for 24 events to air live on B R Live, Turner s digital platform. The partnership is expected to be announced in the coming days.

In addition to the live events, Turner will air shoulder programming and taped events on TNT and there is also a reality show in the works, as well, according to sources.

B R Live streams live sports including the UEFA Champions League, lacrosse, and NBA games for various monthly costs. We can only assume that watching live ONE Championship cards on B R Live will come at a price, although it looks as if TNT will broadcast events on a tape-delayed basis.

The first ONE event under the new deal will be January 19th in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was also reported that Sage Northcutt is expected to make his debut in February, while it s possible that both Alvarez and Johnson could fight on the March 31st card in Tokyo.
