Vince Gilligan s Breaking Bad Movie Is Coming To Netflix And AMC

Get the Full StoryLast November, the news dropped seemingly out of nowhere that a movie set in the brutal world of Breaking Bad was in the works, but while the internet was momentarily thrown into a flurry of excitement and debate, little has been heard on the matter in the months since.

In a new report from Deadline, however, we get a couple more details on just how the film will be coming to our screens. Specifically, it s said that Vince Gilligan s feature will stream on Netflix, before airing on AMC. This is a reverse of the order in which the show itself was released, in that the series would originally air on AMC, before becoming available on the streaming platform.

As for the film s actual content, there s not much we can say for sure, but it s believed that the movie will continue the story of Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul. In fact, according to the report in The Albuquerque Journal that first broke the news, the film will follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom, which certainly sounds a lot like Jesse s situation in the final stretch of Breaking Bad.

As for whether or not we can expect an appearance from the late Walter White, Bryan Cranston mentioned back in November that he d definitely be game to reprise his role, but had not yet seen a script. Of course, the ending of Breaking Bad didn t leave Walter s story with much room to continue, and a lot of fans seem happy enough with the closure that the show gave the character, but surely we can t rule out a flashback or two.

In any case, seeing how production for the Breaking Bad film reportedly began mid-November, we can hopefully expect a little more clarification on the project in the coming months.
