It s not quite Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Meldrick Taylor, but it s pretty close. A brilliant refereeing decision or a horrible robbery? You get to decide.

In the co-main event of Saturday s PBC on FOX card in Nashville, Abel Ramos 26-3-2, 20 KOs needed a knockout in the 10th and final round to rally past welterweight Bryant Perrella 17-3, 14 KOs . We seldom see that miracle finish happen, but in this instance it materialized.

Ramos decked Perrella crazy with a massive uppercut with just over 30 seconds to go in the fight. Perrella beat the count but he was in bad shape. Abel had to go for broke and sure enough another right hand put him on the canvas. Referee Jack Reiss gave Perrella another count, asked him to walk to another spot in the ring and then back towards him. Perrella stumbled in Reiss sight, and with literally one second left he made the call to stop it.

Perrella was ahead 88-83, 88-83, and 87-84 on the official scorecards at the time of the stoppage. Had he survived to hear the final bell, he would ve won a majority decision.

As we also know in MMA, the referee is not supposed to take into account how much time is left on the clock. The issue would ultimately be whether Perrella s stumble was enough reason to say he wasn t in shape to continue.

Whatever the case, you have to praise Ramos for one hell of a comeback when he had no other choice but to go all-out in the final three minutes.
