Facebook is taking steps to stop the spread of the "Boogaloo" movement on its platform a term which refers to a potential US civil war or the collapse of civilization.

Members of Boogaloo groups on Facebook have been tied to violent plots, and researchers say many Boogaloo participants identify with white nationalist groups or militias.

The company said on Thursday that it would stop recommending similar group types to people already in such groups.
