Prince Philip Has Undergone A Successful Heart Surgery, And CBS Has No Plans To Postpone Prince Harry And Meghan Markle s Interview

Get the Full StoryIt s been a little over two weeks since 99-year-old Prince Philip was shuffled off to the hospital, and at first, the Palace downplayed his hospital visit, saying it was just a precautionary measure since he wasn t feeling very good. Then the Palace announced that Philip would be in the hospital a few more days and that turned into him being transferred to another hospital to be treated for a heart issue.

Well, today Buckingham Palace said in a statement that Philip went through a procedure on his heart, which was successful. He ll be laid up in the hospital for a bit longer as he recovers. Because Prince Philip is down and out, some royal experts believe that CBS should press the pause button on Prince Hot Ginge and Meghan Markle s big tell-all interview with Oprah. But CBS reportedly has no plans to postpone the interview and will air it on Sunday night as scheduled it will air in the UK on Monday night on ITV . CBS also released another preview clip where Meghan calls out The Firm for perpetuating lies about her and Prince Harry. DAMN! Make that popcorn extra large, please, and keep em coming!

In Buckingham Palace s statement about Philip s health, they only said that the heart procedure was for a pre-existing condition and it went well:

The Duke of Edinburgh yesterday underwent a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition at St. Bartholomew s Hospital. His Royal Highness will remain in hospital for treatment, rest and recuperation for a number of days.

Philip s health woes come as some royal drama is going down. On Tuesday night, The Times published an account from anonymous royal aides who claim that when Meghan Markle was a working royal, she was so tough to work for that she drove her employees to tears, caused two staff members to quit, and undermined the confidence of a third. Shit apparently got so bad that Jason Knauf, Harry and Meghan s former communications secretary, filed a formal complaint against Meghan in October 2018.

Meghan slammed the claims, saying that she was saddened by the latest attack on her character. Buckingham Palace released its own statement and said that they do not tolerate bullying, they are very concerned about the allegations, and are investigating. Um, didn t they already investigate when the complaint was made in 2018? Who was running Buckingham Palace s HR Department back then? A Corgi?! No offense to THE QUEEN s Corgis.

But well, there may not have been an investigation back then, because BBC News says that the complaint against Meghan was never a formal one. Also, a source tells Harper s Bazaar that two of the employees who were named in Jason s complaint as being victims of Meghan s alleged bullying didn t know he was going to file a complaint with HR. When they found out, they asked for the matter to be rescinded and said that they didn t want it to become an official complaint. Harper s Bazaar also mentions that one of the employees who Meghan allegedly made cry was her personal assistant Melissa Toubati. Melissa resigned just six months into the job, but in Finding Freedom, it s claimed that she was fired for working against Meghan instead of working with Meghan:

One of those employees, personal assistant Melissa Toubati, left Kensington Palace in October 2018 after reportedly being driven to tears, according to British tabloid reports at the time. An aide anonymously defended the abrupt departure, quickly giving a glowing account of her tenure to the Daily Mail. However, it later emerged in court documents during Meghan s privacy case against The Mail on Sunday that Toubati had, in fact, been dismissed from her role by the couple due to misconduct the details of which are known to this author but cannot be repeated for legal reasons . In the Sussex biography, Finding Freedom, sources revealed that it was Knauf s longtime friendship with Toubati that had led the Sussexes to believe that certain staff, including their own press secretary, were more interested in protecting one of their own than Meghan .

Meghan also has people defending her. Jon Cowan, the executive producer of Suits, which Meghan was on for seven seasons, defended her in a tweet:

It s also possible the Duchess of Sussex is a good person thrust into an unimaginable world. Having spent 3 years working with her in her pre-Duchess days, I saw a warm, kind, caring person. I know nothing of her current situation but she gets the benefit of the doubt in my book. https: t.co 7JD3ig6tws

And friends, who wished to remain anonymous, also defended Meghan to Harper s Bazaar, and said what many have said, which is that The Times piece is part of a smear campaign in retaliation for Harry and Meghan s tell-all interview. Well, if that s the case, expect more smearin , because CBS released a preview clip where Meghan calls out The Firm, via Deadline:

In the promo, Oprah Winfrey asks Markle how the Royal family would react to her speaking her truth in the interview.

I don t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us, Markle says in the interview, which was filmed last month. And if that comes with risk of losing things, there is a lot that has been lost already.

You may be asking yourself, What does Meghan have against the 90s legal drama starring Tommy Cruise?! She s not talking about that The Firm. The Firm was reportedly coined by Prince Philip to describe the business of the Royal Family.

Here s that piece of the interview, which looks like it took place on the set of a photo shoot for Restoration Hardware s new outdoor collection:

Here I was thinking that this interview wasn t going to be that riveting and the most interesting part would be Harry and Meghan sharing recipes for flaxseed muffins with their neighbor Oprah. But it looks like I thought wrong. If The Firm wants people to not watch this interview, they better pull out something big. They better get THE QUEEN to announce that she changed her mind about buying more Corgis and is pleased to announce that the Palace is home to a new litter of Corgis and she ll introduce them in a Corgi puppy livestream launching on Sunday, March 7, at 8pm EST. That ll do it!
