A woman couldn t lead the country : Joe Biden not surprised Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris, stresses he would have won
Get the Full StoryMonths after staying silent on Kamala Harris disappointing loss in the U.S. presidential election, former president Joe Biden has finally spoken on the result, confirming that he is not surprised that the Democrats replacement for him was defeated by the Republican politician despite his corrupt past and many felonies. Back in July 2024, amid the steadily worsening narrative about Biden s allegedly downgrading health and demands that he step down, he cancelled his presidential bid and endorsed Harris for the election. But despite a beyond impressive campaign and massive support from the public as well as notable celebrities, many factors didn t work in her favor, and she ultimately lost to Donald Trump in the elections. While Biden was disappointed by the outcome, he shared that he wasn t surprised during his appearance on ABC s The View. It was not because he believed that his then Vice-President lacked the highest level of qualification to run America. He understood Trump s ploy since he couldn t beat Harris intellectually or well, morally, he chose to play dirty. I wasn t surprised because they went the route of a, the sexist route, whole route, This is a woman, she s this, she s that. I ve never seen quite, uh, as successful and consistent campaign undercutting the notion that a woman couldn t lead the country and a woman of mixed race. He stressed that had he remained in the race and gone up against Trump as planned, he would have won since the now-POTUS got seven million fewer votes than he got in 2020. But he does accept some of the blame for Trump having the worst 100 days any president s ever had. I do, because, look, I was in charge and he won. So, you know, I take responsibility. In the last few months of his presidency, there were repeated claims that there was a significant decline in his cognitive health and that he was no longer capable of leading the country. Biden also defiantly denied the rumors. They are wrong, there s nothing to sustain that, he added. Whether Biden s health was declining or not, his term didn t see a Health Secretary going anti-vaccine, the nomination of a Surgeon General who is not legally authorized to treat patients, a shaky economy, broken ties with allies, or a shady billionaire cashing in on his ties with the president.
