Doctor burnout is plagued by health IT

Electronic health records EHRs were created partly to streamline record keeping and improve clinical decision making, but they're weighing on doctors: The vast majority 70 of physicians who use electronic health records EHRs report healthcare IT-related stress, and time spent in EHRs is correlated with physician burnout, according to a survey of 1,792 practicing physicians in Rhode Island published in JAMIA.
